Healthy Sausage Rolls

Healthy Sausage Rolls

These are a great healthy option for winter dinners,
kids parties, anytime....
Full of lots of grains and seeds, the kids don’t know
how good they are.
Makes about 12


Meat Option

2 sheets butter puff pastry – thawed
Approx 2 organic beef sausages (no preservatives / additives)
A handful organic pork mince
¼ cup cooked finely diced onion
¼ cup organic rolled oats
¼ cup linseeds
¼ cup l.s.a. mix (organic if possible)
¼ cup grated organic carrot
¼ cup grated organic zucchini
salt + pepper
1 organic free range egg, lightly beaten

Vegetarian Option
2 sheets butter puff pastry – thawed
Approx 1 cup of cooked drained spinach (fresh or frozen)
Approx ¾ cup organic feta (crumbled)
¼ cup cooked finely diced onion
¼ cup quinoa grain soaked (optional)
¼ cup linseeds
¼ cup l.s.a. mix (organic if possible)
¼ cup grated organic carrot
¼ cup grated organic zucchini
salt + pepper
2 organic free range eggs, lightly beaten

1. Preheat oven to 200 deg C
2. Thaw butter puff pastry – cut each sheet into half
3. Mix all dry ingredients together with a spoon.
4. Mix in egg/s. The l.s.a. mix will act as the binder. Add another egg if required.
5. Add to dry ingredients until just combined.
6. Spoon onto pastry sheets along the long side
7. Fold over, seal with egg wash. Brush lightly with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cut into half or sizes as required.
8. Bake until golden brown.
9. Serve with a good tomato chutney or organic tomato sauce.
